Mug handle

Mug handle

A handle should take two fingers without the knuckle hitting the cup. The rest of the note is how we do that in the studio.

Pick it up full. The balance changes. A handle that felt fine empty can twist when the mug is full. A thick rim changes the way it drinks. That is a preference. A rough rim is not.

Too small a handle is a hot cup you cannot hold.

The rim should meet the lip cleanly.

Mug handle is a note from the studio, not a rule for every house. The pieces in this edit were finished with this habit in mind.

If a piece you have does not match the note, send a question with the name of the piece. The reply is more useful than a general rule.

An inquiry is the way to ask. Nothing on this page is a charge.

Keep the habit small enough that it happens. That is the care these pieces were made for.
