Studio visit

Studio visit

A studio visit is a short hour at the table where the current cloth is laid out.

We do not walk people through every rail. Three lengths, the note card for each, and the sample that has already been washed are enough to understand how the edit is chosen. If a question is about a size, it is better asked in writing so the answer can include a measurement.

The room is a working room. Cutting happens in the morning. Visits sit in the afternoon, when the table is clear and the light is still honest.

Come for the cloth in the hand, and leave the camera until the end.

The rail is the finished edit. The table is where a weight is still being argued. That is the part worth seeing, and it is quieter if the room is not performing.

“
The useful part of a visit is the table, not the tour.

A visit is not a fitting and not an order desk.

If you want a size or a piece held, send an inquiry before you come. The shop does not charge a card, and the studio does not keep a queue of alterations.

What you can take from a visit is a clearer eye, not a bag of cloth. You will see why one weight stayed and another was folded away. That is more useful later, when you are choosing between two shirts.

If you are coming for a specific piece, name it in the note. We can have it on the table. A general look at the season does not need a list.

Please come without a large group. Four people around the table is the point where the cloth stops being visible.

Write ahead with a day and a question. We reply with a time or with a no, if the table is already committed.

The visit is the table, the washed sample, and a plain answer. That is the whole invitation.
