Coat weight

Coat weight

Choose the weight for the weather you actually stand in. The rest of the note is how we do that in the studio.

Mid-weight wool is the one that gets worn. A heavy coat stays on the hook. If the lining pulls at the hem when you lift an arm, the coat will twist. That is a fit note, not a style.

A coat for a heated room and a coat for a platform are different cloths.

Choose the weight for the weather you actually stand in.

The lining should move with the cloth.

If the lining pulls at the hem when you lift an arm, the coat will twist. That is a fit note, not a style.

Coat weight is a note from the studio, not a rule for every house. The pieces in this edit were finished with this habit in mind.

If a piece you have does not match the note, send a question with the name of the piece. The reply is more useful than a general rule.

An inquiry is the way to ask. Nothing on this page is a charge.

Keep the habit small enough that it happens. That is the care these pieces were made for.
